Give AMD some credit, they have nowhere near the amount of money Intel has for development. I dont think so, its highway robbery considering an entire Xbox One, built with an Octa-Core and a decent graphics chip for pretty awesome p gaming costs the same as this single component. Wake up and smell the coffee people, Intel as a company is a giant, un-moral, POS and we need AMD to come through with this, for all of our sakes.
These maybe true or not but that is in line with what I expected ipc wise to be behind ivy bridge and sandy bridge isn't far away to ivy bridge so as expected Zen will have weaker ipc then Sandy Bridge.
Hmmm well the pages do suggest that AMD will still be behind but like I said, we dont know for sure until the Zen processors hit the shelves.
I guess we will see when the bigger tech sites and companies get their hands on them physically and do un-biased benchmarks. But make no mistake my hopes are high for this release and everyone else should be exited to. The 8 core in consoles I think had only 6 cores enabled on release for games at 1. In FPU even more faster probably 10x faster. Anyway a PS4 with 6 cores enabled for gaming is equivalent to like a haswell celeron g Is everyone out to get AMD or something?
WTF is this? The larger picture, if anyone here is even capable of such a thing, is that you can get an entire well proven, decent gaming machine for more than ilt costs to buy a modern unlocked Intel Quad. I dont care about what anyone else thinks, its highway robbery, plain and simple.
Is anyone on this planet excited for a competitive PC market that will drive costs down? Even if Zen turns out to be horrid, how could a company releasing a product possibly harm anything? Wow guys, its seriously time to grow up and see the bigger picture instead od just what YOU want.
I couldnt be happier about something like an opportunity to put a monopoly company in their place and save everyone money. You all agree that saving money is a good thing, yes? Do I have to spell the damn thing out for you? Then grow up and stop being Intel fan boys for 30 seconds. I assume you have some way of backing up your claims? All eight cores are enabled. It has a theoretical peak performance of 1.
But even if you had the hardware to compare, what would you use to compare? I have a PS4. There's no way for me to benchmark the PS4.
I'm sure it's not as powerful as my computer but only because the Ti, but it has no problem running games. Gaming on the PC is a gamble. You never know how your system will run a game. On the PS4, you know aren't going to have performance issues or deal with settings. All I see is in these discussion is clear bias toward Intel or AMD without proof to back any of it up.
Performance is not the issue is, power consumption is. Do you see any desktops at Best Buy or Costco? No, you see laptops. The microprocessor market has always been competitive. PCs cost a tenth of what they did in the 80s and 90s, and aren't obsolete in two years.
Back then it was just Intel and Motorola. Though today the market is mobile devices like phones and tablets. Wow someone finally makes a intellectual statement instead of just being a fanboy. Thank you for your mature brain and way of conversation and debating lol. I believe you misunderstood, I was actually reffering to the Desktop PC market specifically, and I suppose gaming-capable high-end performance PC Laptops.
I disagree that the market has really had healthy competition. Thats just fact. However, when it comes to any kind of real performace, a truly powerful Gaming Rig, for the past 15 years, pretty much since the day PC gaming really "got onto the map", Intel has been where everyone looks for their performance CPUs. As much as I hate to say it, the arguments against AMD are valid. AMD is a good 5 years behind Intel, they arent even close to even the same planet as Intel.
I would bite the bullet, period. The simple fact of the matter is even if I chose AMD's fastest 8-Core consumer performance desktop chip, I would loose considerable performance versus the i7. I simply wish people would bring about their arguments in a more mature way, and stop bashing AMD like they are some kind of horrible person ruining the world.
They act like this is simply impossible, its like dealing with children, or extremest religious people. When I say it will increase competition between Intel and AMD PCs, what that actually means is the base CPUs will become less expensive due to new pressure from capable AMD Zen CPUs, which will then create a "snow-ball effect" thats drives costs down on their chipsets as well, eventually leading to an overall price drop in all Intel or AMD based computers of any kind.

As for dedicated, they go under a couple of different names. Finally comes Nvidia, which is the simplest to explain because the company currently only makes dedicated graphics cards.
